PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

In our therapy sessions, we’ll work collaboratively to increase your insight and better understand the deeper roots of the current problems that you are facing. Together, we will increase your ability to better tolerate difficult emotions, more effectively cope with the issues that you are facing, and create a problem-solving style that works for you. My empathic, direct, and empowering clinical style will help you discover the best version of you.

I currently offer both in-person and Telehealth sessions. I am a certified PsyPact provider, which allows me to provide therapy across state lines with those states that are also in "the pact".

PSYCHIATRIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS CONSULTATION

There are many factors that can contribute to emotional distress and psychiatric diagnoses, including diet, exercise, and your general physical wellness.
During a consultation, I will work to understand the full context of your overall health. Your treatment plan may include recommendations and appropriate referrals to other health care providers, fitness experts, nutritionists, and alternative healing professionals in the community.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION

This service is specifically designed for graduate students needing clinical supervision hours to fulfill licensure requirements or for already practicing clinicians wanting consultation services.

PAYMENT AND INSURANCE INFORMATION

I am currently out-of-network with all insurance plans. I will provide the necessary documentation for my patients to submit to their insurance carrier for reimbursement.

My rate is $200 per session.

I offer, get in touch with me today to set up an initial consultation.

A BIT ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and received my Doctorate in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2003. I have been working in the mental health field in various capacities, including community mental health, college counseling, group practice, private practice, consultation and supervision, and substance abuse treatment since 1996. Twenty plus years of experience in this field has not only strengthened my skills, but continues to ignite my passion for working with individuals on the verge of self-exploration and change.

I see it as a privilege when patients allow me to be a part of their process. People change in relationship to others and I see my collaborative relationship with my patients as the most important agent of their change. I pride myself on being open, down-to-earth, relatable, nonjudgmental, and direct; creating a therapeutic environment that allows patients to feel and express themselves in whatever way they need to foster their growth. Clinically, I work from a Psychodynamic orientation, which means that I believe our early relationships and experiences shape how we see ourselves, who we become, and how we relate to our world.

Over the last twenty years I have developed numerous areas of expertise. These specialties include helping adults process unresolved family dynamic issues and understand how these impact their current relationship struggles, helping adults heal from trauma, helping survivors of narcissistic abuse heal and regain their identity, aiding in understanding the effects of domestic violence, helping those who struggle with substance abuse, and compassionately processing identity issues, including those in the LBGTQ+ community. Diagnostically, I have worked extensively with individuals suffering from depression and mood disorders, anxiety, and PTSD.

On a personal level, I have been married for almost 2 decades and am a mother to two teenage boys. I'm also a dog mom and walking my sweet boy is one of my favorite pastimes. When I’m not practicing psychology, I am hanging out with my family and friends and especially love connecting with my kids. I am a work-out enthusiast and an avid weight lifter. I also love running along the Chicago lakefront. I enjoy cooking and creating heathy meals in my kitchen. At times, I bring these personal experiences of juggling motherhood, work-life balance, and nutrition and fitness into the therapy room if it pertains to or benefits my patients.
